About Us

In 2007, Dr. Gareth Ho founded ACAOO (formally known as The Australian Centre for Adult
Orthodontics and Orthopaedics) in Sydney’s CBD, the first orthodontic practise in Sydney that
exclusively treated adult patients. He pioneered braces treatment for adults during a time where adult patients were hesitant or considered beyond saving due to age, related treatment complications, and life or work commitments.

At ACAOO, we work closely with the patient to create a realistic plan that balances the patient’s treatment goals, budget and timeframe. Orthodontic treatment is made with a clear distinction
between treatment goals of medical issues impacting physical health and aesthetic appearances impacting self-confidence. Dr. Ho, our principal orthodontist, specialises in adult malocclusion and related conditions focusing on facial harmony. We have established a network with other dental specialists such as periodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, to ensure every aspect of our patient’s dental health under the treatment plan is accounted for.

Every patient’s life circumstances are different, and ACAOO has treated patients of a variety of
backgrounds over the last 20 years to empower them with a healthy smile. Some examples
include patients wanting a perfect smile they deserve at their wedding, to patients who had prior treatment overseas and are starting a new life in Australia.

As of 2025, this clinic has entered a new era of AI Orthodontics, expanding ACAOO’s scope to patients under 18 as well. Dr. Ho, who has well over 20 years experience seeing children and
teenage patients in the SimplyBraces clinic he founded in 2001, continues to pioneer change in the orthodontic industry, giving patients a healthy, confident smile using the latest technology.
